At the moment DUC does not have any junior only leagues. As the sport grows in the area we hope to start offering this type of program.
2010 JUNIOR TEAM NEWS
The Durham Ultimate Club will be holding open tryouts for a new Junior COED team called SYNERGY. The team will be coached by members of the Durham Ultimate Club. The team will possibly compete in either the A or B division of the Durham Ultimate Club on Sunday nights and will also play exhibition games against the Toronto Ultimate Club Junior Team (DIRT) and the Ottawa Carleton Ultimate Association Junior Team (OJ). In some years the team will also compete in the Canadian Nationals Tournament. Tryouts are open to all eligible players. Anyone can attend practices but only the invited players may play in the games.
Eligibility:
Players must be 18 and under as of Dec 31st of the year of the games/tournament. The team is COED and the ratio for games is 4 guys and 3 girls. The selection of the team will be based on this ratio.
Tryout Dates:
Tuesday April 20th from 6:00-7:30
Thursday April 22nd from 6:00-7:30
This year’s tryouts will take place at Bowmanville High School on the back soccer field. There will be two tryout dates to determine if there is enough interest to run this team for this year. There is no cost to tryout. Players should bring a white and a black shirt/sweater with them, cleats, as well as plenty of water.
Requirements:
• Players must purchase a DUC membership fee for $25 and if the team decides to enter the league each member must also pay a $30 team fee. As part of this process players will be required to do an online waiver, print a copy and then have their parents sign the printed copy.
• Arrange for transportation to games.
• Attend practices on Thursday nights at Bowmanville High School. The practices will only occur in the spring and before big games. There may be some practices before the DUC games.

If you are interested in playing please send an email to Kevin@durhamultimateclub.com In the email please include the following information: Full name, address, age, gender, High school, coach’s name, # of years playing ultimate. If not enough players contact us by email then the tryouts will be cancelled.
