Hey folks, this email contains information on the playoffs and the summer tournament.

Playoffs:

5 pm Sunday Playoffs: The top 8 teams will make it to playoffs while the other 6 teams will be scheduled games just for fun. The quarter finals will be Sunday August 20^th and semifinals will be Sunday August 27^th from 4-6 pm. Finals will be on Wednesday August 30^th from 7-9 pm at the Oshawa Civic Field 3(grass). Please note that teams losing in the quarter finals will play each other August 27^th to determine the two teams that will play under the lights on Wednesday for 5^th place.

Please note that the standings on the homepage do not reflect who is in which place on the ladder. If you want to make it into playoffs, you will need to make sure you are in the top 8. The current ladder rankings after 7 weeks are as follows.

To move up the ladder you need to beat teams above you on the ladder. Games are scheduled each week so that you are playing teams near you on the ladder but there is also some thought put into making sure there is some variety in who you play. Some teams that have a winning record have never played teams in the top 4.

Summer Tournament

It was voted at the spring captain’s meeting that the summer tournament this year would not be part of the playoffs. Instead, the tournament will just be for fun.. We will be trying to keep the tournament as a recreational tournament so please do not stack your teams. The top teams from the 5 pm and 7 pm divisions are discouraged from entering as teams unless they can add some recreational/new players to their roster. Players from the top teams are eoncouraged to join with some of the rec teams in order to help the recreational teams improve their game. It will be a 12- 16 team tournament and the cost to enter will be $50. Teams are allowed to put anyone they want on their rosters so long as the players are DUC members. Teams from the 7 pm or 5 pm time slot can enter this tournament.

Times: 9 am – 5 pm

Deadline to enter: Monday July 31st (the spots are first come first served)

# of teams: 12-16

Gender Ratio: 4O/3F but, since it is a fun tournament, teams are more than welcome to play 4F/3O (the other team does not have to match).
