Was curious about proposed playoff setup?
Would it be possible to consider a 'consulation' side and a 'championship' side, where teams can place themselves in a division playing teams of likemindedness?
Obviously, there'd need to be discussion as to numbers etc, but I'd be curious about others thoughts.

I have been putting some thought towards this and so far this is what I think would be the best, but it is open for discussion. I suggest that I create an upper group of 8 and a lower group of 8 and then create two pools of 4 in each group. Each team would get 3 round robin games to determine ranking within their pool. In the upper group of 8 the top two teams from each pool would advance to the championship round with a semi final game that same day. The winners of the semi-final would then compete for the trophy on the Tuesday night. So that leaves 4 more teams in the upper division that finished 3rd and 4th in their pools. These teams would combine with the four top teams from the lower group (the 2 teams that finished first and second in their pools). The teams would play a 1/4 final game and then the winners would move on to play a semi final game. Teams that finish higher during pool play would have easier quarterfinals. The winners of the semi final game would get one more game on the Tuesday. (this game would just be for fun and would not result in winning a trophy since technically you are playing for 5th). The bottom four teams from the lower group would play a semi final game against each other and then the winners would advance to a final game that same day.
The top 8 and bottom 8 will be determined by individual game results throughout the season and not by the standings. The standings do not take in to consideration that the schedule is based on ladder standings. (For example the Indies appear to be in 2nd place but they have never played a team in the top I have a chart that I use that determines who is where on the ladder so that I can try to get the best match-ups each week. I will post the ladder results sometime soon so people can see it. Anyone can feel free to offer other suggestions but keep all comments positive. You can also talk to me any Sunday to discuss things because it is easier to have a conversation in person. Cheers!!

Don't have a problem with playoff setup.

However, it was brought to my attention that in the past the 5pm teams playing on the Saturday for playoffs and 7pm teams playing Sunday often switched year to year.
Is there a day I can tell my team to be ready and able to play?

Please and thanks

Now that the playoff schedule is out and the "final" league standings are on it, I realize that it was done taking all kinds of things into consideration but it still feels like a magic wand was waved over the standings. Not because I don't think it was fair (it seems legit, I think) but because it wasn't very transparent.

I like the idea of a ladder and 16 teams is enough to do one. Can we please just use a ratings ladder with a wager system next year?

Putting this here in case I miss the next captain's meeting.
