If you are interested in organizing this for DUC then Please contact Kevin. We did it for a couple years and it was fun but not well attended. Usually just enough to make 2 teams.

What is the Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game?
The AHGCUG is the world’s longest annual Ultimate game. The 2014 edition was played in 29 Canadian communities and one international community over 30 consecutive hours. The goal of the game is to promote Ultimate and raise funds for a great cause. In 2014, Dubai was the first international community to take part. This year, we are looking to include more international communities.

How does the game work?
Each hour, starting Friday, June 12, a community will play an hour-long game. There are two teams (Team Red and Team White). At the end of each game, the finishing city will pass along the score and the next community will start. The score continues along with the game. After the final community finishes, the final score will determine the winning team.

How do we sign up?
Signing up is the easy part! Email Ultimate Canada’s Communications Director, Kevin Underhill at ... @canadianultimate.com to book a slot in the 2015 Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game. Communities can request certain times of the day but we are limited by time zones.

What do we need to host a game?
Each game lasts one hour so you will need to have access to a facility for an hour. Some communities play indoor, some play outside and some even play on the beach (depending on time slot and field availability). Find a format that suits your city and book a facility if necessary. You will need enough keen community members to get a game going. Most communities get enough for 7-on-7, but you can play any format that works for your community.

Where does the money go?
Money raised by Canadian communities will go towards the Art Hawkins Ultimate Fund. The purpose of the fund is to support the accessibility and development of Ultimate and Spirit of the Game in Canada with children, youth and those with a disability, especially in economically disadvantaged communities. In 2014, the AHGCUG raised over $9,000.00. We hope to exceed $10,000 this year. For non-Canadian communities you are welcome to donate to the Art Hawkins Fund or raise funds for projects in your community that share the same spirit as the Art Hawkins Ultimate Fund.
