Not too long ago someone told me that TUC and UPA play that the pulling team must mach the ratio of girls to boys (4 girls 3 boys or 3 girls 4 boys) of the receiving team but this varies from league to league. Does anyone know what DUC’s official stance is on this during regular season play?
thanks

| Last i checked you had to match the pulling teams ratio |
|
|
|
| Thanks for the correction Iain but my question still stands what's the leagues official stance on this rule? |
|

|
| We play 4 guys and 3 girls with no exceptions. |

Hey bob, I think the rule changed.
If you can't play 4:3 does the team forfeit the game? What if they have enough players to play just not the right ratio? |

I stand corrected..
"4 guys and 3 girls with no exceptions."
So i guess in regular play if you do not have that ratio your team forefits.. :-\
In which case you play for fun and ratios do not really matter |

|
| you must have a minimum of 6 players to start the game. 4 guys and 2 girls or 3 guys and 3 girls. Otherwise you default. Although, you have a 20 minute grace period where you can wait for another player to show up. Check defaults in the league rules for the full explanation. |

Are you not allowed to play 4 girls 3 guys as well? Just a 4:3 ratio either way?
If so do you have to match up? Say my team decideds or only has 4 girls and 3 guys, does the other team have to match up?
Or even more hypothetical, what if my team only has 4 girls and 3 guys show up and the other team only has 4 guys and 3 girls show up... does someone default? Do trees really make sounds when they fall in a forest and you aren't there to hear? Do they?!?!?

| Brad, you bring up a good point. A team could play 4 girls and 3 guys if they wanted to but the other team does not have to match that ratio. In the past we have always played with 4 guys and 3 girls due mainly to the fact that many teams had less girls. Now that the league is more established and there seems to be lots of women playing, maybe we should consider coming in line with the UPA rules if the captains agree. We can talk at the next captain's meeting. |

| Ummm... i believe my question was a 2 parter. What about the trees? |

|
| Kevin - I think it's a great idea to switch to UPA rules for gender ratio. Especially when some teams have just as many, or more, females as men. It's only fair. That's my 2 cents. |

In the case where a team does play with 6, does the opposing team have to match the 6 or do they still play with 7?
I can't find where the league rules are on this website. In the long rules it goes to the "official" rules of the UPA under long rules on the side there isn't anything discussing ratios or defaults. |

|
| if one team needs to play a man down then the other team still gets to play with 7. |

| Cool thank you for verifying. |
